Tadasana

Tada =mountain; Asana = Pose/Posture

Tadasana yoga, or Mountain Pose, is appropriate for all levels of yoga practitioners and is regarded as the basis of all standing yoga postures. This pose requires the full engagement of the body while the mind is calmed.

How to do Tadasana (Mountain Pose)

  • Stand with your feet slightly apart and ensure that your weight is evenly distributed between both feet.
  • Exhale, raise your arms above your head, and interlace your fingertips with the palms facing up.
  • Raise your shoulders to your ears, then, as you exhale, roll them back and down your spine to release your torso and improve your posture.
  • Relax all facial muscles, including the tongue.
  • Relax your pupils and keep your gaze unwavering.
  • Return to your normal position and unwind.
